Seminars

As part of our overall goal of More Boats On The Water, the Race Management Committee has the following seminars scheduled for 2013:

Saturday, January 12^th 13:00 to 16:00 – Racing Rules of Sailing

            Effective January 1, 2013 a revised set of Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) will be in effect from US Sailing.  For new racers, come and learn the rules or for those that have been racing awhile come dust off what you know and hear about the latest revisions.

Saturday, March 2^nd 13:00 to 16:00 – Basic Race Management

            Race Management is integral to an effective racing program and a whole lot of fun.  As with any new venture, knowing what you are doing makes your commitment of time more enjoyable and valuable. So join us to learn the basics of race management and then get out on a committee boat for a racing event.

Saturday, April 13^th 13:00 to 16:00 – Racing Strategy

             Knowing the Racing Rules in critical, but having an effective strategy for racing is equally important if you want to race well and have fun.  Simple questions like: where should I set my boat up for the start will be answered.  In three hours we likely won’t get you ready to race against the Oracle entry in the America’s Cup but you will be better prepared for your next race!
