Commodore's Challenge Postponed Again!

Although we have had lots of interest in the Commodore’s Challenge, this weekend presents a problem for many of the people who wanted to participate and will be challenging for anyone who wants to spend time at the Club due to the traffic and parking restrictions.  Therefore, we are going to postpone this event again.  While it seems like we might never get this event off, we have had to deal with bad weather, conflicts due to the untimely passing of a key member of our Club and now the numerous conflicts of this weekend.  Guess I will have to file this one under “Life Happens!”

Stay tuned for a rescheduled date, but with the other events we have planned for the Summer, it will likely be in the Fall.

Cal 20 - Taco Tuesdays Week Two

After a very close race separated by a scant 16 seconds, RisQue skippered by Risa Scott and crewed by Cheri Rhynard, Laurie Little and Jason Hite edged out Bette Boop skippered by Warren Wolfe. Congratulations to Risa and her crew. Full results for the race are posted.
Also the series standings are posted.

Border Run 2

Shoreline Yacht Club has been named the Organizing Authority for Border Run 2, a new race which will be held on Friday, June 29th.  As you see above there will be four different courses from which the racers can choose, finishing in either Newport Beach, Dana Point or San Diego. Although this year’s Border Run which was held in early March drew 235 racers, our target for this as a new event is 100 boats.  The picture shown above is the start of the 2012 Border Run which featured one start on one start line for all 235 boats racing over three different courses.

In order to showcase our Club and make this an event that racers will look forward to in future years, we will need lots of volunteers especially at the start.  If you are interested in volunteering your time, drop me an email at the address below.

See you on the water.

Taco Tuesdays racing is about to begin!

Finally, the Cal 20 - Taco Tuesdays racing is about to begin!  The first race in the first series will be tomorrow, May 8th.  There will be a skipper's meeting at 17:30 for those individuals that want to skipper a boat and have been signed off by JSORP.  Anyone else is welcome to crew on a boat.  The cost for skippers or crew is $20.00 per person for the 4 race series.

You can sing up via the racing website at http://racing.shorelineyachtclub.com.  Please note that for the entry system to work, you have to put something in every one of the required fields.  A zero (0)or a not applicable (N/A) work on any field that you don't have info on.

If you want to crew but can't be at the Club by 17:30, text or call me at 714-325-3645 and let me know you are on your way.  The skipper's will be drawing crew from the available pool at the Skipper's Meeting.

See you tonight
